We made it!

It sounded like a great idea.  Load the boys up in the Man-van and head to Grandma's house with several interesting stops along the way.   One long week and 2400 miles later, I have a few thoughts I need to share:

1- Lots of things sound better than they turn out to be.
2- Our kids travel really well.  Their Dads are getting too old to sit that long.  The padding that was once in back has moved to the front side.
3- Grandma needs to come to our house to visit...that would be much easier.
4- Hotels are not made for small children who have been strapped in a car all day.  To all the people at the pool who our boys cannonballed, and endured their screams of delight and freedom...sorry.  The people next door who heard all the fights, giggles and superhero sound effects...I apologize.
5- After a week on the road, laundry begins to multiply.  We did NOT leave the house with this many clothes.  How the hell can I have 10 loads of laundry?  And why couldn't that lottery ticket we bought back in Indiana be a winner?  I would have paid big money for someone else to do this.
Oh well.  Gotta go.  The dryer is beeping.

Even with all this, I have to admit... There's no place like home.
